Fistula is a abnormal medical condition which results in the
growth of un necessary passage ways between different organs
which need not have been there in the first place. fistulas can
develop almost anywhere inside the body and between any two
organs.
Symptoms of Fistulas can include
1.Pain
2.Fever at regular intervals of time
3.Itching
4.Drain pus or foul smelling discharge
These symptoms vary based on the severity and location of the
fistula. Different kinds of fistula show different symptoms.
Fistula between vagina and any other cavity is considered as
vaginal fistula. It is one of the most common forms of fistula
among women. There is no one particular cause for fistula in
women.
It is caused by a wide variety of
reasons which include
1. Childbirth
2. Prolonged labor
3. Pelvic surgery
4. Pelvic radiotherapy - such as for pelvic cancer
Rape specially mass rape has also been considered to be one of
the main reasons behind vaginal fistula. That is why there had
been an extra ordinary number of vaginal fistula among European
women during the second world war.
Similarly in males anal fistula have different set of symptoms.

around the anus.
2. Abscess releases watery puss or mucus which is stained with
blood.
3. Repeated bouts of fever

7. Nausea
8. Vomiting
