Treatment of Fistula
Anal fistulas are serious complications and as compared to other
kind of fistulas and they never heal by themselves. The most
popular method of treatment of fistula is surgery. During the
surgery the doctor cuts the abscess and drains the puss out.
Cleaning the wound is very important in order to ensure that
healing progresses well and the fistula does not return. Once
treated the fistula should heal and produce no long-term
problems, provided there is no underlying cause. Normally after
surgery the wound takes 2 to 6 weeks to heal. |
